Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 is a special version of Windows XP released by Microsoft. This was only available for the OEMs for integration into their PCs and not as a retail one. The advantage of the version is that it has the Media Center program which is the best audio/video manager program for a Windows PC.

KB925766 must be installed after installing the Update Rollup 2 (KB900325). Update rollups are updates released to fix problems regarding the OS. The main benefits were compatibility with hardware and other software. Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 had a lot of problems working with the codecs and its support on Media Center. But now, everything has been corrected in the Windows 7.
